Is the Bundesliga a Farmers League?

    The Bundesliga is the German league in football. It is considered a top 5 league in the world but some fans still think it is underwhelming due to the lack of competition. But I know you may be wondering, what is a farmers league? A farmers league is a football term that bad leagues with little to no competition are referred to as. There are many arguments that support this and it all sounds very shocking when people first hear it. The main reason many think that the Bundesliga is a farmers league is because the same team, FC Bayern, have won the league title a total of 33 times since 1932! To add even more bias as to why many people think that the league has lost competition is because the same team FC Bayern have won the league title for 11 consecutive league years (2013-2022)! 

    Although people believe this, many people now believe that the league is coming back to life as there seems to be more competition. This year so far, FC Bayern are currently in 3rd place, only behind VfB Stuttgart who are in 2nd and Leverkusen who are currently holding 1st. Even though these teams are all in the top 3, things can easily and suddenly change as FC Bayern currently has 17 Points, VfB Stuttgart has 18 points and Leverkusen has 19 points. In this league, there is a total of 18 teams.

    Moreover, fans are also now recognizing the amount of talent each team has in the Bundesliga. Many say the teams seem to be more balance because of how each team has a handful of solid players in every position and much more young talent. Take VfB Stuttgart for example, They have not been the best team in the league in the past but they are now holding 2nd place because they have players like Guirassy, Silas and Fuhrich. There are also many more talented young players like Jamal Musiala (20yrs), Alphonso Davies (22yrs), Mathys Tel (18 years old), Victor Boniface (22yrs), Florian Wirtz (20yrs) and Jeremie Frimpong (22yrs). On top of all this, there have been some big signings this season that will bring some spice to the league. The signing people think of first this season is Harry Kane who moved from Tottenham (Premier League) to FC Bayern (Bundesliga).

    With all this being said, the competition looks good this year and we may be in for one heck of a ride with this league this season!
